Course Registration

This is the official information page for the courses offered by BME for exchange students.
Only these courses will be available for registration, but some minor changes may happen.

All courses are taught in English.

You must take at least one course to maintain your active student status at the BME.
You must also meet the requirements of your home university.

Course availability depends on the number of students registered.
There is a minimum and maximum number of students per course.
Course Level in the Subject Code
All BME subject codes start with the letters 'BME'.

BSc: the 8th character of the subject code is A or B - for example BMEVITMAK47
-
MSc: the 8th character of the subject code is M or N - for example BMEVITMMB03
-
Both: the 8th character of the subject code is none of the above - for example BMEGT658151
Thesis - Project - Research
Please note that project-type courses such as Diploma Project, Final Project, Project Laboratory, Teamwork Project, Thesis Project, etc. are generally not offered to exchange students.

If you wish to participate in such a course, please contact your potential supervisor at BME.

Please ask him/her to sign a declaration form before your arrival in Budapest.

If you need help with this issue, please contact the faculty's Erasmus coordinator.

Once the declaration has been signed, please submit a "018 Request to register for subjects / to drop subjects" via Neptun and attach the signed document.
Study in Hungarian

If you are fluent in Hungarian and would like to study some courses in Hungarian, please contact the faculty's Erasmus coordinator to discuss the available courses.

If your request is approved, the faculty coordinator will arrange your registration on the approved courses.
Course offer for the 2026 Spring semester
You are free to choose courses from any faculty. However, the following restrictions apply.
Faculty of Architecture
Courses offered to exchange students
Please note that the Faculty of Architecture offers admission for 1 or 2 semesters and subjects for exchange and overseas students in its 10-semester Integrated MSc Programme in Architectural Engineering, which includes both BSc and MSc level subjects.
Please also note that you can only register for courses in Architecture if you apply for Architecture or Civil Engineering at BME in your online application.
Please also note that project type courses (e.g. Diploma Project, Final Project, Project Laboratory, Teamwork Project, Thesis Project, Comprehensive Design, Departmental Design) are not available, but as a design subject Interdisciplinary, Project-based Design F (or S in the Spring semester) is offered.
List of departments with codes for 'Architectural Research for Exchange Students' course, but please note: this course can only be taken once per semester, and if you take it in the Fall semester, you can also take it in the Spring semester, but at a different department.
Faculty of Chemical Technology and Biotechnology

Faculty of Civil Engineering
Courses offered to exchange students
Some courses of the faculty (especially laboratory courses) may be limited for exchange students.
MSc courses are available only for students with a BSc certificate in Civil Engineering.
Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences
Courses offered to exchange students
Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics
Courses offered to exchange students
MSc courses are only available to students with a BSc in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Please include this with your application, otherwise your MSc course registration will be cancelled without further notice. Please note that there can be no exceptions.
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
Courses offered to exchange students
The database contains only courses offered by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (including courses that are not available to incoming Erasmus students, so please check the list of courses first). For information on courses offered by other faculties, please contact the relevant coordinator.
Students interested in a Final Thesis project (BSc, MSc) must complete the Final Thesis proposal form, which will then be allocated to a relevant department. Final Thesis projects cannot be accepted without submitting the form. After the assignment, the Letter of Declaration must be completed and sent to the Faculty Erasmus Coordinator. Deadlines and further details of the procedure are published in the header of the form.
