International Graduation Ceremony - 31 July 2026
Wednesday, 6 May 2026
You are cordially invited to the International Graduation Ceremony at Budapest University of Technology and Economics, to be held on 31 July 2026 at 10 am in Building K, the Main Hall (Aula).
Please email graduation@bme.hu if your family members need an invitation letter for a visa.
If your residence permit expires before the ceremony and you intend to stay, you can request a student status certificate (via 027 request or in person during opening hours at Building R) that states the exact date of the ceremony. If you submit this document with a residence permit extension application, the Immigration Office will issue you with either a new residence permit or a temporary residence permit certificate, allowing you to stay in Hungary.
For more details, please visit the Immigration Office website (https://oif.gov.hu/). It is important to check the options, because if you are planning to start work in Hungary, continue your studies or simply collect your diploma and travel back to your home country, you will need to follow a different procedure.
Important! If you receive your diploma before the Ceremony, you will not be allowed to participate in it. We have to follow this rule, because there are a lot of administrative preparations for the Ceremony. We can not manage these preparations, if students collect their diplomas and then return them. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
Useful information:
- The final exam period will be between 29.06.2026 and 10.07.2026.
- You can find a useful news here: https://www.kth.bme.hu/en/news/2361/
- Please note, that after your status in Neptun has been changed to “Graduated”, ASC has 30 days to issue your Diploma and Diploma Supplement.
- These documents require several signatures and stamps to be made official. This process takes a lot of time, so it is recommended that you collect your documents at the International Graduation Ceremony on 31 July 2026
- You can authorise someone to collect your documents on your behalf, but the 30-day limit still applies. If you do this, please download the authorisation form from the ASC website (https://www.kth.bme.hu/en/for-students/downloadable-documents/), complete it correctly and submit it via a 040 request. Once the 040 request has been accepted, send or give one copy to the authorised person, who can then collect the documents from the BME ASC during opening hours. (Building R, main hall). To ensure a smooth process, please consult your ASC coordinator regarding the availability of your diploma.
