Available BSc programs and how to change between them
General information
At BME, the preparatory program is administered by the Faculty of Natural Science. When applying, applicants must indicate which BSc program they wish to pursue following a successful placement test.
The BSc program selected at the time of application may be changed once during the month prior to the placement test.
The placement test is usually held at the end of June, with a retake in August.

Available BSc programs and how to change between them
If you would like to choose a different BSc program, please submit an E999 Request for a purpose not specified in any other requests in Neptun. ONLY do this if you wish to change. You don't need to do anything if you are happy with the one you selected when you applied to BME!
You can check your previously chose target BSc in Neptun/Menu/Studies/Advancement/Registry record/2025/26/2 (always the actual semester) – Study group
You will see a code there, that identify the BSc programs. Please check the table below to identify the exact program.

Important notes
- According to Hungarian law, students are not permitted to apply for a preliminary program more than once. A residence permit can only be extended if the student starts a Bachelor's program after the preliminary program.
- If you have any questions about visas, please contact the Embassy or the Immigration Office. Students are counted as clients of the Immigration Office. For this reason, they are not permitted to provide universities with any information about a student’s visa process or to accept any requests relating to it.
- You can take an exam at BME if your study status is active and you don’t owe the University any money.
