Dear Student!
Welcome to Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME)!
In this Newsletter you can find the dates and tasks you HAVE TO DO in Neptun, ONLINE and from anywhere in the world.
Regarding the beginning of the term, we have to ask your patience, and in the beginning of August we can provide you more information.
Please read on carefully and follow the other News and information on our website (https://www.kth.bme.hu/en/), it is constantly updated with the necessary information! This newsletter will also be updated when we know more about the autumn term, so please check it on our website frequently.

PhD students should contact their faculty about the details of their term registration! (http://www.bme.hu/admission-process?language=en)
To register in Neptun (online, from anywhere in the world) you HAVE TO COMPLETE the following steps:
1. Register for the term, setting your status to either Active or Passive (but if you are SH/SCYP student and wish to postpone your studies then please do not register for the term but submit an E004 request [please see when and how to do it later]), please see the Neptun Guide to TERM REGISTRATION if needed at: https://www.kth.bme.hu/en/general-information/downloadable-documents/. The dates for this can be seen below. You can get the Certificate to Enter Hungary, Student Status certificates etc. as soon as possible (at the end of the Newsletter there is information about entering Hungary). Please do not wait for your registration request to be accepted, these two things are not connected!
2. Submitting the Registration requests, the dates of availability can be seen below. You have to print the request form, sign it, make a digital copy and attach it back to the request.

3. Tuition fee payment for tuition fee paying students
please read and follow: https://kth.bme.hu/en/study-programmes/tuition-fee-paying-students/finances/
4. Registration for subjects (except for NEW students on the PRE engineering course, and for those studying on the BSc courses of Faculty of Chemical Engineering or Faculty of Civil Engineering, (because the faculty will register your 1st term subjects for you). Please see the Neptun Guide for registering for subjects if necessary at: https://www.kth.bme.hu/en/general-information/downloadable-documents/
Hungarian courses for full time BSc and MSc Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship holders are mandatory!
The Centre for Modern Languages will register your Hungarian course.

- In building R, Room No. 1 and the ground floor corridor is CLOSED for students, you are not allowed to enter. - *Postponement for scholarship holder students (E004 request):
Postponement of the commencement of studies can only take place if the host institution issues a letter of acceptance for the new semester. The scholarship holder may only postpone the start of the scholarship status for health or other unexpected reasons beyond their control, so they can apply to start a scholarship status in a later semester. Postponement of the scholarship may only take place before the establishment of the student status.
[1] If you can not arrive to BME until the 3rd September and fluidly continue your studies in person once you arrive if you submit an E022 Request for Asynchronous mode of studying / Preferential Course Schedule in Neptun until 17th September and it is accepted. Please note that even if it is accepted the final deadline when you are expected to start your studies in person at BME is 14th October..
